Newsletter 72

Welcome to our weekly newsletter

This week we welcomed guests Kirsty Swan from Bristol Junior Chamber of Commerce, and Joy Johnson, guest of Colin Shurrock. We also welcomed Wendy Hughes, Ange Blott, Maggie Cavanna, Bob Whittington, Mary Shipway and Ann Gleave.

We were also visited by past members Es Murray and James Freeman, and visiting Rotarians Bernd Langheim, Jenny Wring and Jane Dyer from Gordano Breakfast Rotary Club.

…And a man in a bright green suit…

Business

We gave a presentation to Amelia and the staff at Brasserie Blanc for hosting us every Wednesday morning for the past year.

Thanks to Mike Blott for organising the Christmas Brunch last Thursday. Although Ken and Nancy Broad were unable to attend it was reassuring to know that they are both well.

Christmas Breakfast Extravaganza

The Christmas Breakfast Extravaganza was compered by the one and only Philip Bowry, with singing contributions from everyone led variously and with great humour (some intentional some and some not!) by Esmond Murray, Nigel Harradine, Tony Hughes, Mary Whittington, Jayne Tucker and Debbie Rogan interspersed with clever and amusing stories from Italy presented by David Innes-Wilkin.

A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL THE “PERFORMERS” FROM YOUR PRESIDENT

May the joy of the angels,

the eagerness of the shepherds,

the perseverance of the wise men,

the obedience of Joseph and Mary and

the peace of the Christ-child

be yours this Christmas

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a happy, healthy new year. See you all again in 2018!
